Confirel received ISO 9001:2015 certification for the production of palm sugar, Kampot pepper and Kampot pepper infusions on June 1 from England-registered Guardian Independent Certification Ltd. This certification specifies the requirements for the quality management system where an organization must demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer requirements and applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and aims to increase customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system.
In March, Confirel had already obtained ISO 22000:2018 certification from the United Registrar of Systems, also based in the United Kingdom, for these same products as well as for the production of food supplements. This certification specifies, among other things, the requirements for a food safety management system (FSMS) to enable an organization involved in the food chain to implement an FSMS that provides products and services that are safe, in accordance with their intended use, and to demonstrate compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements for food safety.
The International Organization for Standardization, usually referred to as ISO, chosen to be the identical acronym in all languages, is an international standards body composed of representatives of national standards organizations from 167 countries, on the basis of one member per country.
